Brand charts. Rankings make the world go round

Our world bursts with information. People today suffer from an infoxication (information intoxication) syndrome. Zillions of bits of information reach us by any means in our daily life.

But we cannot hide away in the forest because amongst all the disposable data there are valuable pieces of information we could use to make our decisions or set our goals.

Brandz and Forbes both publish different charts with brand rankings in order to make clear which corporations have achieved better results in one period. These charts, compared through the years, can tell if an investment is advisable or not.

Let's have a closer look at one of those charts.

Above there is a detail of the chart on top of this entry. It shows the Top 10 Risers on 2019. I would like to use it for making a statement about our society. We can see a social network (Instagram), a fashion brand (Lululemon), an entertainment platform (Netflix), a beauty brand (Shisheido), an electronic shop (amazon), a car with driver service people use when they go out (Uber), and a fast food franchise (Chipotle). On the other hand, we find two software companies (Salesforce and Adobe) and a professional social network (Linkedin).

These brands do portrait our society as a highly hedonistic professional one. Worried about its looks , with no time for cooking and tending to electronic tools at work.

Praise the Big Data!
